European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs
and Security Policy Catherine Ashton vowed intention to visit Yemen soon.
During a phone call Vice President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi
received on Thursday, Ashton said that several EU delegations would visit Yemen
to get acquainted closely with the situation in Yemen and its requirements to overcome
the crisis's aftermaths, reported Saba News Agency.
“The EU is aware of the great challenges Yemen faces”, she
said, stressing EU’s entire support for all
efforts aimed to tackle them.
“The EU's States are discussing means to mobilize the
required aid to Yemen”, Ashton said
She stressed that the EU remains ready to continue working
with the government and the international community to help rebuild the Yemeni
economy.
For his part the Vice President Hadi pointed to the progress
Yemen has achieved politically, clarifying the difficulties Yemen encounters in
security, economic and political spheres.
He stressed the importance of mobilizing all possible aid
from EU, the USA and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s states to help Yemen to
tackle the critical situation.
Hadi welcomed Ashton's visit to Yemen to coordinate the
joint efforts in order to achieve the desired purposes, highly appreciating her
and the EU's concern about the situations in Yemen.
