Yemen Parliament summons interim government

In its session held on Sunday Yemen Parliament summoned the  new National Reconciliation Government's Prime Minister and  cabinet’s members to attend Monday session  so as to continue debating the government’s general program.

The parliament began Saturday the discussion of the government's program that presented by Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa.

The government program that it the cabinet had approved last Monday is based on the constitution, GCC initiative and on the draft of the 4th four-year plan for socio-economic development and poverty reduction 2011 – 2015, said the prime minister.

On the other hand, the parliament condemned the attack on the march that came from Taiz city to Sana’a on Saturday resulting in a number of victims.

It demanded the government and its relevant security bodies to investigate the attack  on protesters and submit its finding report to the parliament.


The parliament listened on Saturday to the government's general program presented by Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa.

This came in the parliament session chaired by Yahya al-Rae'i and in the presence of all the partisan parliamentary blocs and independent members.

The government program targets a set of priorities the government will focus on to tackle the challenges Yemen is facing currently.

Via the program, the government will mobilize all national efforts in order to restore political stability and security, create the suitable environment to achieve safe and peaceful transfer of power, respect human rights and respond to youths' legitimate demands for change.

The government program will focus on returning the affected basic services to their normal conditions, topped by electricity and oil derivatives.

The government will seeks to convince the brotherly and friendly states to establish a special international fund for Yemen to finance priority projects for governorates' development.

In addition, it will set up a fund to present monthly assistances for families of killed and wounded people and to hospitalize the wounded people abroad if required.

The government will form committees to contact with youth movements all over the country to discuss and involve them in determining the country's future.
