Yemen army clashes with al-Qaeda, kills 11

By Mohammed al-Kibsi Over 11 al Qaeda militants were killed in Abyan province in clashes between Yemen’s army forces and al-Qaeda fighters that erupted Tuesday night and continued for the early hours of Wednesday, said a source from Abyan Local Council. The source said that government troops shelled al-Qaeda militants' hideouts to force them out of the suburbs of Zinjubar the provincial capital of Abyan. He added that four of the killed insurgents were foreigners, one of them from Saudi Arabia.
