Hadi forms military committee to defuse tensions in Yemen

By: Mohammed al-kibsi Yemen’s Vice President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Sunday night indorsed a decree for forming a military committee to be charged in restructuring the army and restoring security and stability across Yemen n accordance to the provisions of the operational mechanism of the Gulf initiative. The decree aimed at defusing tensions across Yemen, particularly in Sana’a and Taiz where confrontations took place between the security forces loyal to Saleh and between the defected army lead by General Ali Mohsen and his allies comprised of the Islamist militias of Islah party and the tribal militias of Sheikh al-Ahmar. The committee included in its membership 14 independent military commanders. The committee is chaired by the vice president himself and comprises the directors of the military operations of both the Republican Guards that is loyal to Saleh and the director of the military operations of the defected army. Members of the committee are as follows 1 Minister of Defense. 2, the interior minister. 3 Major General Dr. / Nasser Abed Rabbo al-Tahiri. 4 Major General / Mohamed Ali Al Qasimi. 5 Major General / Abdullah Ali Elewa. 6 Major General / Fadhl al-Qawsi. 7, Major General Dr. / Riad al-Qurashi. 8 Major General / Fadel Abdul Majeed Alrdvani. 9 Major General / Omar Abdel Samad Yaf'i. 10 Major General / Saeed Ali Obaid. 11 Brigadier General / Sergeant Abdul Subaihi. 12 Brigadier / Abdul Aziz al-Shamiri. 13 Brigadier General / Qayed al-Ansi. 14 Brigadier General / Nasser Ali Al-Harbi (secretary). General al-Tahiri, is the director of military operations, Al Qasimi, Advisor to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Elewa, a former defense minister, and the al-Qawsi is Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Security Affairs. Al Qurashi, is Undersecretary of the Ministry of interior for the Affairs of Finance and Administration, and Alrdvani, is Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior to the field of training and rehabilitation, and Shamiri is Head of operations of the north-western region and the armor division. Ansi, is Director of the Department of Public Officers, and Obeid, is deputy chief of staff for the training and educational facilities, Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul al- Subaihi director of operations of the Republican Guards, Brigadier General Nasser Ali Ahmed military director of the Department of Planning and Statistics and Research. Based on the GCC deal to this Military Committee, headed by Hadi is in charge of the following: - End the division in the armed forces and address its causes. - put an end to all armed conflicts. - insures the return of the armed forces and other military formations to their camps and end armed manifestations in the capital Sana'a and other cities, and the evacuation of the capital and other cities of the militias and armed groups and any other irregularities. - The removal of roadblocks and checkpoints and fortifications that were set up in all the provinces. - Rehabilitation of those who do not meet the conditions of service in the armed forces and security agencies. - Any other action that would prevent an armed confrontation in Yemen.
