Ben Omar leaves Yemen without reaching an agreement

The efforts of Jamal Ben Omar the Secretary -General envoy to Yemen were hindered by new conditions put by the regime especially the points of restructuring the Military and Security Forces leaders.

Yemeni president offered to restructure the Military and Security Forces after the election, political sources told Gulf news.

However the Oppositions refused that request and stressed for restructure to be before the presidential election, fearing regime forgery.

Meanwhile, Ben Omar has postponed his departure from Yemen two times.

Local sources emphasized that the Ambassadors of US and UK informed Ben Omar of Saleh willingness to sign the GCC initiative and its executive Mechanism depending on the delegation granted to the vice president.

Sources also mentioned that the American ambassador in Sanaa urged the vice president to sign the GCC initiative and to start in the peaceful power transition without any delay since delaying is not helping Yemen stability, feared of blowing the situation militarily.

Mr. Jammal Ben Omar the UN envoy to Yemen departed Sanaa today, after his efforts to transfer power peacefully in Yemen were hindered by Yemeni president.

Two days ago, Ben Omer delayed his departure according to the request of the anti and pro-regime parties in order to reach a resolution for Yemeni crisis.
