The solution for the Yemeni crisis in the hands of Yemenis, President Saleh

From the beginning of the crisis that continued for nine months, ridiculing the stalling of the outlaws, extremists and outlaws for hindering political solutions and refusing dialogue pointing out that the country’s problems will only be resolved from inside and not abroad, said President Ali Abdullah Saleh in a joint meeting of the General People Congress (GPC)’s general committee and the Democratic National Coalition Parties (DNCP) supreme council last Wednesday.

“Because we know the Yemeni people, while the others’ knowledge does not go beyond the reports and their statements and decisions may not serve the interests of the country and could lead to further crisis,” the President said. This came when the President addressed the extraordinary session of the ruling GPC’s committee for tribute to martyr Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Ghani, former chairman the Shura Council. .

“I have announced following my arrival from Saudi Arabia that I call for dialogue and mutual understanding for settling the crisis within a constitutional partnership with all political forces, however instead of the positive response they adopted spreading false reports and one of these lies  alleges that since Saleh’s return the death toll raised to 191. Who killed them? The Yemeni people are not ignorant and they know their intentions and aspirations for coming to power, president Saleh added.

He said that the opposition want to cease power so as to revenge all honest faithful, and the talented cream of the society in the state institutions, because they are the leaders  of this country.  First their aim was the president, his relatives and sons but now they revealed their real intentions of uprooting the whole system. 

“They have no convictions of their own culture,   programs for the aspirations of the people, other than their hatred for this country. Their culture is a culture of vengeance and revenge. The press has published the official number of those killed from the armed forces since the beginning of the crisis. They were attacked in their camps and in the streets. The protests and demonstrations are not peaceful, and some of the diplomatic missions began to understand now that their rallies and demonstrations are armed to the teeth, the president ensured,” said President Saleh.

“We admit that our constitution secures the right and freedom of expression, peaceful responsible demonstrations but not the setting of tents for blocking streets, building barricades and frightening people,” the President added.

The President said before he came to Sana’a, the VP has formed a five- persons committee for drafting a memo to pave the way for dialogue over the implementation of the Gulf initiative with its mechanisms, and he   had supported the fast movement   for carrying out the VP’s resolutions, and instead of responding to the VP memo they attacked MP Saghir Aziz, destroyed his house and killed his assistants.   

They announced that the barricades and armed aspects should be removed but he doesn’t mind the continuation of the youth at the change square because he understands and supports their demands, revolution and aspirations which are deviated and stolen. 

“The thieves have used you as human shields and shoot from behind you at the rallies to say to the world that the dictatorship is killing its youth, the president said directing his address to the youth.

On the issue of the Security Council, President Saleh said that opposition want to influence the Security Council decision that would be issued shortly, however some of the diplomatic missions have understood that they want to benefit from the situation, and want to create chaos, saying that the regime may depart but what follows the regime departure and the signing of the initiative, would definitely be chaos. 

The President said that he was ready the initiative would be signed by him or the VP but they said that as the President has returned, there is no need for the VP to sign. He said that he would sign on condition that there would be guarantees from the GCC, the EU and the USA to guarantee that all the GCC initiative terms are implemented.    .

Although the JMP have reached an 80 percent agreement with the VP then started the Kentucky intersection incident which aims at dragging the authorities to a confrontation that would divide the capital into southern and northern sectors similar to what had happened in Beirut.

“I have declared that I am with dialogue and have no intention for using force. They claim that they dominate the street, if so I stayed for 112 days away why didn’t they resolve the crisis especially that they presume that they are with the peaceful solution and why did they refuse to negotiate and cooperate with the vice president if the President was their only obstacle?

The President added that if their intentions were peaceful why did they disrupt the electricity; occupy the military camps in Nihm, Arhab and other locations, saying that the documents and diplomatic missions prove that they are coordinating with al-Qaeda in Abian, so as to create a new Middle East.

There is a delusion that we have tried socialism and nationalism and we should try the Islamists. The mother land is not the property of the JMP or any other outlaws not it is ours. It belongs to the citizens.

“They demand that Ali Abdullah Saleh should depart, Saleh said, “but I didn’t come to power through a coup, I was elected by four million Yemenis. If they decided that I should leave I will leave.

The President said that he had absorbed the national culture during the last 33 years but how can 25 million people    trust the explosions that they hear from you every day while you don’t have the military force and I thank God that they have not our military force or they would have destroyed  the country.

 “My closest aides who have betrayed me and stabbed me on the back, how could you trust them” the President reminded.

Meanwhile, the ruling party’s leaders issued a brief statement on their website, expressing support to the GCC initiative and calling for President Saleh to “unilaterally form a new government in case the opposition continues to reject peace compromise.

The deputy head of the Supreme Council for the National Democratic Alliance Parties, Dr. Qasim Sallam mentioned that the current situation is a dispute between the Yemeni people and rebelled military members, which should be understood by the International Society, yet he said that this conspiracy run by strategic institutions and centers in the major countries as well as operation rooms abroad according to these strategic plans.

He revealed the intentions of al-Islah Party, its militants, the rebelled members from the First Armored Brigade and the militants of al-Ahmar sons who started a micro state in al-Hasabah area and another in the diameter of the rebelled brigade and al-Sitteen Street.

The Vice President, Abdo Rabbo Mansoor Hadi condemned the resorting to violence and terrorism by the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) noting that the JMP parties assaulted the soldiers and barracks of the police, assaulting and looting Government institutions and attacking citizens as well as commercial shops.

“This is a dangerous turn in events,” said Hadi, he added “it is an indicate of choosing the option of Military escalation, deepening the political crisis  and devoting to the options of the violence and terrorism,”

On the other hand, there is a delegation from the opposition JMP parties in Russia and have met with the Russian foreign Affair deputy Minister. They JMP representatives said that they are satisfied from their talks with he Russians saying that Russia will support Yemen in its pursuit of peace.
