Yemen presidential office: Yemen’s file not referred to Security Council

By Mohammed al-Kibsi
An official source at the presidential office denied that Yemen’s file was referred to the Security Council.
The source denied that a source at the office of the Vice president Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi had told the BBC that Yemen’s file was referred to the Security Council for implementing the GCC initiative based on the Article Seven.
The source said that such statement was baseless and that there is no person that is authorized to issue statements on behalf of the Vice President.
The source called for verifying the truth and accuracy and to not publish lies and fabrications that has nothing to do with the truth.
The BBC has quoted a source at the office of the vice president as saying there was an American, British and French intention with GCC approval to refer Yemen’s file to the Security Council for implementing the GCC initiative according to the Seventh Article.
The BBC quoted a source at the Vice president office as saying that Hadi had paid great efforts to reach a deal for transferring power peacefully before referring the GCC initiative file to the Security Council.
The Presidential office source said that the General People Congress Party GPC that is the ruling party insists that President Saleh should not step down and that the only path for transferring power peacefully can only be achieved through early elections to be observed by the GCC and the United Nations, pointing out that the GPC is to issue a statement on this concern late on Monday.
