Yemen coast guards detain Russian ship loaded with weapons

The Yemeni coast guards detained a Russian ship loaded with weapons in the Red Sea, said a security source on Thursday.
The Russian Embassy in Sana’a expected that the ship will be released today.
A spokesperson of the Russian embassy in Yemen Idar Tuighnov said the ship was carrying weapons specified for guarding the Russian ships that pass through the Red Sea so as to protect them from the Somali pirates.
News Yemen website quoted the Russian diplomat as saying that a political decision for releasing the ship and the weapons.
The Yemeni coast guards tagged the ship to Salif port in Hodeida province, said the security source that the ship carried over 19 different weapons.
