Russia is urging Yemen’s government and opposition for talks, the country’s Foreign Ministry stated over a new outburst of anti-government protests in Yemen. The statement says that direct dialogue over transferring powers to the opposition and sticking to a peace initiative by the Gulf Countries Cooperation Council is the only reasonable solution of the conflict.
Russia’s FM also urged its citizens not to go to Yemen that has recently been seeing especially fierce clashes. On Sunday and Monday rebels were dispersed by guns. Some 46 people are reported to be killed.
