Yemen’s cabinet ministers in its meeting held on Tuesday approved a loan agreement of $21 million signed with Islamic Development Bank (IDB) on June 30, 2011.
The loan agreement signed between the government and IDB on June 30, 2011 will contribute to financing water resource enhancement project in the capital Sana'a worth $26.25 million. The government's contribution to the project reaches $5.25 million.
In its weekly meeting chaired by the Information Minister Hasan al-Lawzi, the cabinet assigned a ministerial committee to finalize the required legal and constitutional procedures to ratify the agreement.
The water resource enhancement project aims to enhance the capital's water supply network through delivering water to areas where there are no water networks and updating old networks in addition to improve technical and administrative capacities of the staffs of Sana'a Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation.
