Yemen defected army’s weapons arrive at Taiz by Hodeida –Jabal Ras route through an Islah broker

Enormous amounts of weapons have arrived at Taiz Governorate to be added to the previous arsenal under the military commanders of the First Armored Brigade Sadek Sarhan and Hamoud al-Mikhlafi. Local sources said that this coincides with notable activity in weapon smuggling through isolated mountainous areas for the past months.  

The sources said that the weapons are sent to armed opposition groups by a man in Mikhlaf area famous for weapon, oil and commodity trafficking called al-Hatami, who belongs to Islah party.

Information says that the weapons and other logistics are stored in an area in Jabal Ras before they are sent in convoys to groups of Sheikh Saeed al-Mikhlafi who leads the opposition militias in Taiz.

News of continuous smuggling last week of different sorts of explosives, missiles and munitions in water tanks and trucks to local opposition tribal leaderships in areas of Taiz Governorate.
